Bovine Gelatine

Bovine Gelatine is a protein-rich substance derived from the collagen found in the bones, skin and connective tissues of cattle (bovine). It is widely used in a variety of food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications, including in the production of gummy supplements, capsules, marshmallows, jellies, and cooked meats.

Characteristics of Bovine Gelatine

  • Appearance: It is typically sold in sheets or powdered form and is translucent with a yellowish or light brown color.
  • Texture: It is known for its ability to form a gel-like consistency when dissolved in hot water and cooled, making it useful for thickening and stabilising various products.
  • Taste and Odour: Gelatine is flavourless and odourless in its pure form, allowing it to be used in a wide range of applications without altering the taste of the product.

We have available to you four major types of gelatine – bovine, porcine, fish, and chicken – with a wide range of properties to meet the requirements of your application.

We are also one of the UK’s leading pharmaceutical and pet food gelatine suppliers.
